Ceramic artist Makoto Komatsu uses his superb skills to shape hard porcelain into soft paper bag shapes. The natural and smooth folds break the cold and hard lines of traditional ceramics and add a smart artistic atmosphere to your dining table.
Mr. Makoto Komatsu was born in Tokyo in 1943. He graduated from Musashino Art University in 1965, and then went to Sweden to study under the ceramic master Sting Lingberg. In 1975, his pleated series of works were published and received high acclaim, and his works were even included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
